Shawn Foster Biography
Shawn Foster is an American director who works in music videos, films, and television. Foster won a Grammy Award in 2018 for producing Lisa Loeb’s children’s video record release Feel What U Feel. Early in his career, his short video White Pony made a significant influence to the global success of the Deftones’ album of the same name.

His short film, White Pony: Deftones (2000), had a significant impact to the global success of the Deftones album of the same name. Following that, he directed videos for a diverse range of artists and genres, including The Warlocks, Gaunt, Drive-By Truckers, Chevelle, Stabbing Westward, Tim Easton, Sugarcult, The Sun, Enemy (feat. Troy Van Leeuwen of Queens of the Stone Age), Taproot, Johnathan Rice, Brad Kane, and the ‘Gram Parsons Tribute Doc.’ (feat. Elvis Costello, Steve Earle, Norah Jones, Keith Richards, Dwight Yoakam, among others). Co-owner of “Boulevard Industries” till 2009. He entered the world of television and film. Zane’s Sex Chronicles (2008), an HBO/Cinemax episodic series, was completed in two seasons in 2009 and 2010.
He received multiple MVPA nominations as a director for Palomar Pictures and A Few Miles North. Prior to Palomar, he ran Naked with director Marc Webb. (500 Days of Summer/The Amazing Spider-Man). He is now in pre-production for the short film Nancy Boy, which he created and adapted from Adam Rose’s short story and features music by Troy Van Leeuwen (Queens of the Stone Age). Shawn spent much of 2016 working with The Mavericks, most notably directing long-form projects for their East Coast and Texas tours. The Mavericks are a multi-Billboard charting band and Grammy winners that have just started their own label, Mono Mundo/Thirty Tigers. Shawn finished 2016 by directing and shooting projects for Leanne Womack and Friends (Red Light Management).
