When he was diagnosed with a Chiari Malformation, he had only just begun. The recovery from decompression surgery took several months. He was granted the option to return to broadcasting, this time on a network level, once he was fully recovered and ready to return to work. He was working behind the camera for ABC News in Washington, DC. Then came the call to return to KMPH, yet again.
