Paine began her career as an intern in the Sales and marketing department at British record label Mute Records, after which she worked as a National Marketing Manager at World Domination Recordings and as an executive assistant in the A&R department at Madonna’s record label, Maverick Records. Paine joined Interscope Records in 1995 as a West Coast Marketing and artist Development representative, where he worked with No Doubt, The Wallflowers, Snoop Dogg, Nine Inch Nails, and Marilyn Manson. Paine later left Interscope to start her own street marketing firm, with Bonnie Raitt as her first client. Her client list expanded over the years to include record labels such as Warner Records, Capitol Records, London Recordings, and 143 Records.
Paine merged her company with Immortal Records to become IR Street Marketing in 1999. Paine then worked for the William Morris Agency in Beverly Hills, where she met Gayle Holcomb, the Vice Chairman of the Academy of Country Music (ACM), which led to her hiring by the ACM in 2002 to supervise media, radio, and marketing. Paine joined Warner Music Nashville as Vice President of Publicity in 2007. She was elevated to Senior Vice President of PR at Warner Music Group in 2013, where she was in charge of PR for the company’s country and Christian divisions. Paine announced her departure from Warner Music in 2014 to launch her own public relations agency, Premium PR. Taylor Swift was her first client.
