A. in French from Niagara University in 1986. In 1990, she has crowned Miss New York and competed in Miss America 1991 on September 7, 1990. Demler received the New York Emmy Award for Best News Anchor – On Camera Talent on April 18, 2010, from the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. She is the first news anchor from the Buffalo area to win the Best News Anchor award. She is very involved in community service and is a journalist.
