Louis began his television career in 1989 as a Spanish-language reporter for Telemundo, where he was nominated for an Emmy Award for a series about America’s AIDS issue. After getting the desired interview with Cuban President Fidel Castro, Aguirre began her career as a reporter for South Florida’s ABC station, WPLG, in 1990 and progressed through the ranks to become a weekend anchor. Aguirre traveled to Hollywood in 1994 to serve as a correspondent for Extra, which eventually led to a post as the main correspondent for A Current Affair. She went on to become the first female co-host of Fox News Channel’s morning news show, Fox & Friends.
In Funcom’s 1999 adventure game The Longest Journey, Louis performed the voice of Cortez/Manny Chavez as well as the minor character Adrian. In 2003, he returned to South Florida as the entertainment reporter and anchor for WSVN’s enormously successful entertainment show Deco Drive. In 2004, he won his first Emmy Award for “Miracles in the Making,” a special report. On August 22, 2014, Louis and his co-host Lynn Martinez revealed on Deco Drive that he would be quitting the show and heading to Los Angeles, California to pursue his career. He replaced Kevin Frazier as co-host of The Insider on September 9, 2014, alongside Thea Andrews. That assignment came to an end in September 2017, when the show was canceled after 13 years on the air. Aguirre quickly returned to South Florida, anchoring the 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. newscasts and serving as a reporter for the 11 p.m. shows at WPLG.
