Theodore Finch and Violet Markey are two Indiana teens suffering with survivor’s guilt following the death of their sister Eleanor. Violet picks up her pen again and falls in love with Finch.

Tess persuades Joel to flee and take Ellie to their allies in Lincoln, Massachusetts, while she stays behind and blows up the building, killing herself and the horde.
