In July 1995, Hoover made her television debut as a cast member on MTV’s Road Rules, a reality television series that followed five to six strangers traveling from location to location in an RV. Hoover was hired as an entertainment correspondent for American Journal, a nationally syndicated magazine show, after Road Rules. She joined Fox News in 1999 as a correspondent for Fox Broadcasting Company’s news magazine FOX Files, and she also served as a correspondent for The Pulse and Celebrity Spotlight, which she also co-hosted. She also co-hosted the FOX Rules show with Kit Hoover.

Hoover joined ESPN in August 2003 as co-host of ESPN2’s live morning show, Cold Pizza. On the daily two-hour program, she conducted live interviews and presented features and highlights.
