Jay and Sherry Lowe, both devout Christians, gave birth to Lowe. He grew up in Irving, Texas, and has an older sister named Shay. Lowe began playing football at a young age and graduated from Lamar High School, where he was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Later, he spent one semester at Texas A&M University before transferring to Kansas State University, where he was given a football scholarship and played in the Big 12 Championship Game in 2003.

Sean Lowe The Bachelorette

Sean finished third on Emily Maynard’s season of The Bachelorette. He ended up going on two one-on-one dates and one group date with Maynard. In the ninth episode, Sean confessed his feelings for Maynard. Emily offered him an overnight date card to spend more time with him, but he declined because it contradicted Emily’s beliefs and the example she wanted to set for her daughter.

Despite being a front-runner throughout the competition, Lowe was eliminated that same episode. On the limo ride home, he was heartbroken. Maynard remarked after sending him home that she had just sent home “the perfect guy.” In Emily Maynard’s season of the show, Lowe was a fan favorite. He was chosen to be the next season’s Bachelor.
