Brock worked as an anchor/reporter for KUTV-TV in Salt Lake City, Utah, for six years before joining ABC 7 Chicago. She has also worked for KBCI-TV in Boise, Idaho; KEPR-TV in Pasco, Washington; and KWSU-TV in Pullman, Washington. Brock joined WLS-TV in 1990 as co-anchor of the morning newscast alongside Alan Krashesky. From 1993 to 1998, she co-anchored the 6 p.m. broadcast with Floyd Kalber. Since 1998, she has co-anchored it with Alan Krashesky. After Diann Burns departed ABC 7, Brock was promoted to the 10 p.m. newscast, alongside Ron Magers. This is now the highest-rated and most-watched newscast in Chicago. After 13 years together, Magers retired in May 2016, and Brock formed a partnership with Alan Krashesky at the age of ten.
On May 30, 2018, media critic Robert Feder revealed that Brock was leaving ABC7 after 28 years. In her email to colleagues, she wrote, “I want to explore other passions and see what life is like off the night shift.” On June 12, 2018, Cheryl Burton, the current 5pm and 7pm anchor and 10pm contributing anchor, was selected Brock’s successor on the 10pm show. Judy Hsu, who previously anchors 11am and 4pm, has been selected the new anchor for 6pm.
