From 1996 until 2003, he rose to prominence with his recurrent commentary Out at the Movies on The Daily Show, doing movie reviews in his distinctively flamboyant homosexual flair. He co-wrote and presented five Oscar preview specials for Comedy Central at that time. He appeared as a panelist on GSN’s short-lived adaptation of the iconic TV game show I’ve Got a Secret.
DeCaro, a journalist whose column on old television runs in CBS’s Watch! Magazine has also written for the Arts & Leisure, Home, and Styles sections of The New York Times. He published the funny-but-chic “Style Over Substance” column for that paper for numerous years.
His work has been featured in a variety of magazines, including The New York Times Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, Newsweek, Vogue, and Martha Stewart Living. DeCaro appeared in the 2012 feature film BearCity 2: The Proposal as a cameo.
