Meyer and her family soon returned to New York City, where she grew up and completed her elementary and secondary school.

Ari wrote her first play, “The Super Magic Show,” for her nursery school class and dictated it to her mother, actress Taro Meyer, at the age of 5. She directed, scripted, and choreographed the dancers. Ari began modeling as a child at age 5, but stopped due to a preference for playing instead of attending auditions. She is most known for her six-year stint as “Emma Jane McCardle” on the 80s sitcom Kate & Allie (1984-1990).
She was an honor student throughout high school. She has narrated several audiobooks, including “Earth Angel – A” (1995). Her mother wrote and directed the traditional story “Kitten’s Tale,” which was also produced by Ari and Taro. She appeared in the 1991 film Memories of Midnight alongside her mother. In 2016, she began working as a postpartum nurse and lactation consultant in a hospital in Los Angeles, California.
