Foster, a California native, won the National Tap Dance Championship and was discovered as a singer on Star Search at the age of eight. Foster’s most recognized role came in 1984, on the NBC comedy Punky Brewster, as Margaux Kramer, the main character’s pampered upper-class companion. During the course of Punky Brewster, Foster featured on Circus of the Stars; she had an act with actor-musician Corey Yothers, whose sister Tina (from Family Ties) After Punky Brewster ended in 1988, Foster starred in a number of guest roles, including The Wonder Years, Quantum Leap, and Life Goes On. In the Pound Puppies television series, she voiced Holly, the youthful owner of the Puppy Pound, from 1986 to 1987.
