He appeared as Serb Sniper Sasha Ivanic in the 2001 American war film Behind Enemy Lines. During the Bosnian War, US Navy flight officer Chris Burnett and pilot Lieutenant Jeremy Stackhouse are stationed in the Adriatic Sea on the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson. Burnett is about to leave the Navy and has a falling out with his commanding officer, Admiral Leslie Reigart. They see Serb Volunteer Guard soldiers mass-burying massacred Bosniak civilians. General Miroslav Lokar, the local Bosnian Serb paramilitary commander, orders the downing of their plane. The rescue beacon in his ejection seat activates, alerting NATO aircrew that he is still alive and alerting the Serbs to his location. The Serbs believe they have discovered his body, but Sasha realizes Burnett disguised himself as a dead guerrilla and escaped. To ensure Burnett’s rescue, Reigart informs Sky News of the downed plane, infuriating Piquet. Lokar is arrested and convicted of genocide as a result of Burnett’s hard drive.
Vladimir Mashkov Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol
He appeared as Anatoly Sidorov, a Russian SVR Agent who is after Ethan in the 2011 American action spy film Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. Ethan Hunt, an IMF agent, and an asset named Bogdan are extracted from a Moscow prison. The IMF assigns Hunt to infiltrate the Kremlin in search of Cobalt information. Cobalt is a Russian nuclear strategist of Swedish origin who wants a nuclear war between the United States and Russia. To cover up his theft of a Russian launch-control device, Hendricks bombed the Kremlin and framed the IMF. The IMF team intends to intercept the codes by impersonating both Wistrom and Lisenker’s meetings.
Hunt is forced to scale the outside of the Burj Khalifa in order to gain access to a server. Carter attempts to seduce Nath in order to obtain the satellite override code, while Hunt, Brandt, and Dunn attempt to prevent Hendricks from using Nath’s broadcast station. The team activates the systems, and Hunt takes a perilous fall to disable Hendricks.
