Prior to his work in entertainment, Goldman attended Syracuse University and graduated from the Newhouse School of Communications. He started his career as a news writer at WPIX-TV in New York City, then moved on to WNBC-TV. In 2003, Goldman worked as a traffic reporter for the Metro Traffic and Weather channel. In 2004, Goldman was one of the first recruits at the newly formed NBC Mobile, a cell phone TV service available on the majority of national cell phone carriers. He eventually became the NBC Mobile Entertainment Reporter. Goldman was the first entertainment reporter assigned to cover the Oscars just for cell phones.
Since then, he’s appeared on the red carpet at other major award presentations and interviewed some of the biggest names in industry. “Entertainment Buzz” can be watched on NBC Mobile, MSNBC.com, the NBC affiliates, the NBC O&O affiliates, iVillage, and on television, including New York Nonstop, Time Warner Cable, and Daily Connection. Seth has also covered entertainment news on weekends for MSNBC. He co-hosted the Miss Teen USA 2008 pageant with Shelley Hennig, who was Miss Teen USA 2004.[Citation needed] He co-hosted the Miss USA 2009 Preliminaries alongside Miss USA 2008, Crystle Stewart. Stewart and Goldman also hosted the Miss Teen USA 2009 and 2010 finals.
