He was cast as Slim Sherman’s younger brother, played by John Smith, the proprietor of the fictitious Sherman Ranch and Relay Station located twelve miles east of Laramie, Wyoming. Their co-star was Robert Fuller, who played former gunfighter Jess Harper. Crawford’s participation on Laramie ended in 1960, when Andy Sherman was sent to boarding school. Crawford is sometimes credited as Bobby Crawford Jr., or just Bobby Crawford or Robert L. Crawford. Crawford appeared in almost two dozen films and television shows before to and following Laramie.
