Barash featured in the pilot episode of The Incredible Hulk, mimicking the famous “flower girl” scene from James Whale’s Frankenstein. In this version, she meets the Hulk, but their friendship is cut short when her hunting father kills him with a rifle, leading the Hulk to throw him hundreds of feet into a nearby lake.

Barash also appeared as a guest in two episodes of Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman in 1977, and in 1978, he was cast in a main role on the sitcom In the Beginning, which followed a conservative Catholic priest and a liberal, socially conscious nun who run a mission in Baltimore; the series ran only five episodes on CBS, but a total of nine were filmed before it was canceled. The same year, she appeared in Walt Disney’s television picture Child of Glass, playing the spirit of a young girl murdered during the Antebellum era. Barash played a UFO cultist in the 1984 film Repo Man.

She starred alongside Robert Downey, Jr., James Spader, and Kim Richards in the 1985 teen drama Tuff Turf. In 1987, Barash appeared as Maxie Sharp in the television series Fame. In 1988, she played a supporting role in Paul Schrader’s movie Patty Hearst. Oliver Stone cast Barash in The Doors in 1990, as a Sunset Strip folk singer who performs her original song, Who’s Walking Away, published by It’s True You Boys Music (BMI). Barash eventually signed with Warner Chappell Music as a songwriter/artist in 1992. Throughout the 1990s and into the twenty-first century, she focused on recording and performing her music.
