Matt Doran Seven Network
Doran joined the Seven Network in March 2017 as a correspondent on Sunday Night, the network’s premier public affairs show. Susan Hannaford, a former The Sullivans actress, was one of his interviewees, and her Beverley Hills lifestyle astonished many viewers.
Doran will take over as co-host of Weekend Sunrise on October 12th, 2019, it was confirmed in October 2019. He was formerly an irregular fill-in host of the show, and he also fills in for David Koch on Sunrise and Larry Emdur on The Morning Show on a regular basis. Doran then worked for Network Ten in Melbourne and Adelaide for a number of years as a general news reporter and then as a police reporter. Doran was an important part of Network Ten’s coverage of a number of natural disasters, including the devastating earthquakes in Christchurch, the deadly explosion at the Pike River mine in the west of New Zealand, the tragedy on Christmas Island with a boat, and the tsunami that destroyed North-East Japan.
Doran was given the position of host of Ten News at Five in October 2011: Weekend with Natarsha Belling, but left the bulletin in November 2012 when it switched to a format with only Belling as the presenter. With Ten News, he continued to serve as a senior reporter and fill-in presenter.
Doran was made the host of Ten Eyewitness News Early and Ten Eyewitness News Morning in November 2013. On Ten Eyewitness News Early, Hermione Kitson took Doran’s place in January 2014. Doran returned to reporting after the bulletin was canceled in May 2014 as a result of cost-cutting measures. He continued to host Ten Eyewitness News Morning. Doran left Network Ten in May 2015 after nearly eight years of service.
