Valladolid’s first cooking show, Relatos con Sabor, aired on Discovery en Espaol in the United States and Latin America. She demonstrated how local Hispanic households preserve and revive traditional recipes in the series. Fresh Mexico: 100 Simple Recipes for True Mexican Flavor, Valladolid’s first cookbook, was published in August 2009 and has received positive reviews since then. “Mexican Made Easy,” Valladolid’s second cooking show, premiered on the Food Network in January 2010. Mexican Made Easy, her second cookbook, was released in September 2011 as a companion book to her show. Both Valladolid’s book and the show, which was filmed in San Diego, were intended to show the world that traditional Mexican cooking does not contain “yellow cheese” and that her Mexican culinary style can be replicated.

Valladolid has appeared on other Food Network shows as well. She was a judge on Throwdown! with Bobby Flay for a fish taco-themed competition.
