Marc Forgione The Next Iron Chef
In 2010, Chef Forgione competed on season three of The Next Iron Chef, which he won. The Next Iron Chef is a Food Network series that concluded its fifth season in 2012. Each season is a separate challenge to find a chef who will be dubbed an Iron Chef and appear on the Food Network show Iron Chef America. Alton Brown and Mark Dacascos hosted the show’s premiere on October 7, 2007.
The Culinary Institute of America, Munich, and Paris hosted competitions. The final competition was held at the Food Network studios in New York City. Season 1’s winner was Cleveland restaurant chef Michael Symon. Season 2 aired on October 4, 2009, with ten cooks competing to be the next Iron Chef. Marc reunited with Tourondel upon his return to New York, and Tourondel offered him the position of chef de cuisine at BLT Prime. Marc was promoted to corporate chef for the BLT Restaurant Group after serving as chef de cuisine. In this position, he was able to develop recipes and maintain the quality of the BLT brand as it expanded to include more restaurants across the country. Marc was instrumental in the openings of BLT Fish and BLT Market, as well as the BLT Steak locations in Dallas, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Washington, D.C., and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
