Leila became a full-time employee of KTLA in March 2003, after working as a freelance reporter and anchor for the station for two years. She is a co-anchor of KTLA prime news and has previously worked as a weekend sports anchor and a weekday news reporter for KTLA prime news. She won a Los Angeles Press Club Award and a Golden Mike Award for a story about a local quadriplegic surfer, as well as another Golden Mike for the KTLA News special “Access Asia.”

Leila previously worked as a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor at KRON in San Francisco and BAY-TV in San Francisco and San Jose before joining KTLA. She also worked as a Fox Sports Net sideline reporter and as a general assignment reporter and weekend weather anchor at KCOY in Santa Maria. Leila worked at WSEE in Erie, Pennsylvania, as a general assignment reporter and weekend weather anchor.
