Leah Remini Scientology

Since the age of nine, Remini was a member of the Church of Scientology. She left Scientology in July 2013 due to its policies prohibiting members from questioning Church leader David Miscavige’s management, the reported abuse of Sea Org members, its policy of “disconnection” and its practice of branding those who leave the Church on their own as “Suppressive Persons,” and the decades-old Fair Gaming tactics.

Mike Rinder, a former high-ranking Sea Org member, claims that Remini’s issues with Scientology began when she inquired about Shelly Miscavige’s whereabouts at Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ wedding in 2006. She then, at that point, recorded a “information report” in which she declared that Miscavige, Journey, and other senior Scientology individuals took part in conduct that was conflicting with Chapel rules. She was then fired from Scientology, and fellow parishioners wrote internal reports about her, which led to an investigation into her family by the Church.
