Lauren had always aspired to work in the broadcast television industry. She fell in love with math, science, and theater at a young age and pursued these interests throughout high school before being accepted to a four-year broadcast journalism academy in the Chicago suburbs where she grew up. Mission trips to Mexico, Haiti, Jamaica, and Guatemala sparked her interest in weather throughout high school, as many of these places were affected by natural disasters.
She enjoys living in the panhandle but is no stranger to Florida. Lauren has spent every summer with her family here since she was five years old. And, despite having grown up in the Midwest and spent years in the Arizona desert, she says she is most interested in forecasting the tropics.
