Laura Dern Big Little Lies
She appeared as Renata Klein in the American drama television series Big Little Lies. A murder occurs during a school fundraiser in Monterey, California, leaving both the victim and the perpetrator unidentified. Madeline, Celeste, Jane, and Perry, five first-graders, are introduced to the school. Madeline is dealing with the marriage of her ex-husband Nathan to Bonnie and her daughter Abigail.
Celeste befriends Jane Chapman, a single mother hoping to offer a better life for her son, Ziggy. Renata Klein’s daughter, Amabella, accuses Ziggy of attempting to suffocate her. After a heated dispute, Celeste’s husband Perry sexually abuses her. Madeline’s daughter Chloe and Bonnie’s daughter Skye try to mend Ziggy and Amabella’s wounds, but Ziggy kisses Amabella, triggering a disturbance.
Perry chokes Celeste, and Abigail’s academic performance suffers as a result of family tension. Jane assists Ziggy with extracurricular activities and builds a family tree, but she eventually confesses to Madeline that Ziggy was the victim of rape by “Saxon Banks.”
