Amy Ryan is a two-time Tony Award nominee and American actor who rose to prominence in the 2007 film Gone Baby Gone, for which she won the Critics’ Choice Award and was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award.

Amy is the daughter of Pamela (née Ryan), a nurse, and John Dziewiontkowski, a trucking company owner. She has Polish, Irish, and English ancestors. Ryan and her sister Laura delivered the Daily News by bike when they were kids in the 1970s. Ryan attended the Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Center in upstate New York as a child. She graduated from New York’s High School of Performing Arts at the age of 17. Ryan worked continuously off-Broadway for the next decade after being hired for the national tour of Biloxi Blues right out of high school. Her stage name was inspired by her mother’s maiden name.

Andy Hanson, a financial executive, flees to Brazil in order to raise funds for his fraud investigation. He enlists the help of his brother Hank in a robbery, intending to make $120,000. Hank employs Bobby Lasorda, who himself commits the robbery. Nanette, the brothers’ mother, is murdered, and Charles becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth.
Andy plans to end Hank’s blackmail by robbing a heroin dealer and fleeing to another country. They overwhelm the dealer and rob him, killing both the dealer and the client. Andy kills Dex on the spur of the moment to avoid additional blackmail. Hank orders Chris to leave after he shoots Andy. Charles pursues Andy to Hank’s apartment and murders him.
