Quinn began her career in television shows such as Ned and Stacey, Suddenly Susan, Nash Bridges, Diagnosis: Murder, NYPD Blue, Without a Trace, and House. She co-wrote and starred in the independent drama film Winding Roads, directed by her future husband Theodore Melfi, in 1999. After a decade of tiny roles, she was cast as a series regular in the FX drama series Terriers in 2010. The show was discontinued after only one season. She played Tess Masterson in the ABC Family drama series Twisted from 2013 to 2014. Quinn co-starred and co-produced the comedy-drama St. Vincent, starring Bill Murray and Melissa McCarthy, in 2014. She co-produced the Academy Award-nominated biographical drama picture Hidden Figures, starring Taraji P. Henson, in 2016.
She produced the Netflix black comedy El Camino Christmas and has a recurring part in the Netflix drama Gypsy In 2019, she executive produced and co-starred in the ABC comedy pilot Nana, starring Katey Sagal, with her production firm Goldenlight Films.
