He appeared as Miles Straume in the American science fiction adventure drama television series Lost. Miles Straume (né Chang) is the son of Lara and Pierre Chang and a spiritualist. Miles was relocated to California by his mother when he was four months old, forced to leave the Island as part of a widespread evacuation planned by Dr. Chang in preparation for the Incident. As he grew older, Miles found he had a unique ability to receive knowledge from deceased bodies through what he called a “feeling.”

Naomi Dorrit encouraged Miles to join a science team that arrived on the Island aboard the ship Kahana few years later. After the crash of Ajira Airways 316, Miles and his castaways, including Sawyer, were held captive by Richard Alpert and finally returned to the Island. Miles confessed his identity to his father after three years with the DHARMA Initiative and assisted Jack in changing the past.

Miles time-traveled to his original timeline of 2007, where he buried Juliet and observed Sayid’s recuperation, after Juliet exploded a nuclear bomb. Following Ilana’s death, Miles accompanied Ben and Richard on a mission to blow up the Ajira plane in order to keep the Man in Black from fleeing the island. They discovered Frank drifting in the ocean with submarine debris and restored Ajira Fight 316. Miles was an LAPD detective teamed with Sawyer in the flashback, but he spent his life making up for missed time with his father.
