Initially focused on her and her roommates’ sexual activities and life in their squatter commune, the blog quickly morphed into what The New York Times described as “a chronicle of sexual experimentation.” Sciortino and producer Adri Murguia launched Slutever, a three-season web series for Vice, in 2012. Sciortino hosted the series, which took a journalistic approach to explore taboo areas of modern sexuality. In 2017, Sciortino and Murguia co-created the Viceland television series Slutever, which was conceptually based on the web series. Viceland’s Slutever’s second season premiered in 2019. Grand Central published Sciortino’s memoir Slutever: Dispatches from an Autonomous Woman in a Post-Shame World.

Sciortino and Gregg Araki co-wrote the first season of Now Apocalypse, a surreal comedic television show airing on Starz in 2019 (executive produced by Steven Soderbergh). Sciortino also serves as a consultant producer for the show. The show was canceled after only one season. Sciortino appeared in “Side Hustle,” Episode 3 of Season 2 of Joe Swanberg’s Netflix television series Easy in 2017.
