Garrett launched his first YouTube channel, stampylongnose, in August 2006. His channel originally included live-action comedy skits that he and his friends created, but as “Let’s Play” videos started to gain popularity on YouTube, he quickly switched to the gaming genre. He started out primarily playing video games like Homefront but quickly left the stampylongnose channel and started the stampylonghead one. In May 2012, he learned about the game Minecraft and began a “Let’s Play” series based on it. His channel saw tremendous development as a result of the series, and he swiftly rose to prominence on the platform.
