Joseph Cross Big Little Lies
He appeared as Tom, Madeline and Celeste’s favorite café owner in the season 1 of the HBO series Big Little Lies. A murder occurs during a school fundraiser in Monterey, California, leaving both the victim and the perpetrator unidentified. Madeline, Celeste, Jane, and Perry, five first-graders, are introduced to the school. Madeline is dealing with the marriage of her ex-husband Nathan to Bonnie and her daughter Abigail. Celeste befriends Jane Chapman, a single mother hoping to offer a better life for her son, Ziggy. Renata Klein’s daughter, Amabella, accuses Ziggy of attempting to suffocate her.

Adam Nesbit is an adolescent who murdered his younger brother Jacob out of mercy due to his mother Marilyn’s crazy ideals. Marilyn informed Adam that Jacob would be raped and abused in foster care while she was being investigated for child neglect.
Adam subsequently shot Jacob to death to protect him from the abuse, then escaped with Marilyn to a friend’s house, leaving Jacob’s body in their apartment. In the end, Adam was not charged because of the circumstances surrounding Jacob’s death, and Adam’s older brother Daniel, whom he initially thought was dead, told him what Marilyn was claiming was false, while Marilyn was imprisoned for her role in the murder. Adam eventually moved in with his older brother.
Martin Parish is Connie Parish’s son, who raped Mona Stewart. Mona raped Martin, a man who is abused by his mother, Connie. Connie defends herself, claiming she is concerned about him. Martin and Mona talk about their relationship, and then Martin rapes Mona. Benson conducts an investigation, and Martin is arrested for rape. He holds Connie responsible for the rape and accuses her of lying.
Martin gets detained after Connie refuses to question him without a lawyer. Benson and Fin refuse to accept Mona died as a result of an overdose. Martin’s lungs are found to be scarred, and Connie is jailed for ordering Mona’s murder. Martin claims Connie would never harm him and that he relies on his mother. Martin hugs Peter when he finds him, but Connie accuses Peter of snatching Martin. Martin defends Peter, which irritates Connie, who responds by declaring she doesn’t need Martin or anyone else. Martin admits to rape and is arrested.
