OUAI, a Dubai branch in Los Angeles, established OUAI FZE for the US and international trading of OUAI products online as a store and subscription service. OUAI FZE is listed on the California Secretary of State’s Registry Page. The name OUAI is derived from an informal pronunciation of the French word “oui” and is intended to sound casual and unpretentious. After realizing there was a market for both online and in-store sales, she partnered with Sephora to put the product in stores. She preferred that the hair care line be created by a community rather than “a lot of men in boardrooms.” OUAI launched its first body care product in 2019.
