Guerrido had expressed interest in several fields of work before working in the media. A producer who heard her doing a voice-over gave her a job on WSKQ’s morning show, El Vacilon de la Maana (“Good times in the morning”). She accepted an offer from WRMA (106.7) in Miami shortly after.

Guerrido relocated to Miami and began working for the HBC Radio Company after a year at “Romance.” She was offered the opportunity to co-host a radio show where she was responsible for broadcasting news and traffic updates. At WRTO, she eventually got her own music show (98.3).

She also got a job as a traffic reporter for WSCV, Miami’s Telemundo station, which allowed her to work in both radio and television. Univision took note of Guerrido and offered her a job as a meteorologist on Al Amanacer de Noticias 23 (“Morning News at Channel 23”), Univision’s flagship WLTV’s morning show at the time. She went to the University of Miami to study meteorology.

Guerrido has been a weathercaster on Despierta America (“Wake Up America”), one of the most popular television shows among the Hispanic community in the United States, for several years.
