Spivet and on The CW’s science fiction series The Tomorrow People. He portrayed a young Coyle in the 2014 short film Soldiers of Earth. The same year, he appeared in Tim Burton’s Big Eyes. He starred in the A&E series The Returned, an American adaptation of the French television series The Returned, in 2015. Kingwell has also appeared as a child in two Hallmark Christmas television movies: Ice Sculpture Christmas and The Christmas Note as Ethan.

He also played Danny in Wish Upon a Christmas, which aired on Lifetime. That same year, he appeared in the CW series Supernatural as a young Sam Winchester. In 2016, he portrayed Peyton Reddings in the television film The Wilding, as well as Max Clark in the television thriller film A Stranger With My Kids. On September 23, 2016, he announced on his Instagram account that he would be joining the cast of the Netflix series A Series of Unfortunate Events, playing the Quagmire twins, Duncan and Quigley, who would first appear as recurring characters in the first season. Kingswell was promoted to the series’ main cast for the second season.

Beginning in 2017, he starred as Steve Murphy, the title character Shaun Murphy’s younger brother, who died in an accident before the events of the show. In the seventh and final season of the science fiction television series The 100, he played Luca. He also played Sam Thomas in the TV series The Babysitters Club. He portrayed a young Clark Kent in the superhero drama television series Superman & Lois in 2021. He starred as Sam Price in the fantasy television series Ruby and the Well in 2022.
