Donna relocated to Little Rock after working as an anchor for WKBD-TV and WWJ-TV in Detroit. Before migrating to Detroit, she worked for WKYC-TV in Cleveland, Ohio. She’s also worked in South Bend, Indiana, and Battle Creek, Michigan, as an anchor and reporter. Donna has won a slew of honors. She recently won Regional Emmy Awards for her efforts as a news anchor and a commercial campaign for Fox16 News. She was nominated for two more Emmys for her work to raise awareness about cosmetic surgery and breast cancer.
She has been nominated for numerous other Emmy Awards, including one for a special report on a father who left his son in a hot car, another for a story about her daughter’s battle with colon cancer, and another for Arkansas’ Little Rock 9. Donna was also honored with an Associated Press Award for her reporting on the contentious patients’ Right to Die. Ms. Terrell is completely dedicated to community service. Donna Terrell’s Yoga Warriors Fighting Colon Cancer is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that raises funds for yoga classes for cancer survivors, patients, and caregivers.
The foundation also gives funds for liquid nutritional supplements for colon and other cancer survivors who are receiving treatment and require financial assistance. Yoga Warriors is named after her daughter Queah, who died of colon cancer at a young age but found yoga to be beneficial to her health during her battle. At least one free community-wide yoga fundraising event is held every year by the organization. Donna is also a member of the Women and Children First board of directors, a domestic abuse shelter. She has served on the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the Ronald McDonald House Charities’ boards of directors. She has also acted as an ambassador for the American Cancer Society.
