Ashlei King is an American journalist who presently works as a daily reporter for KARK 4 News and as co-anchor of our sister station Fox16’s Good Day morning show. In July of 2018, she joined FOX16.

During her freshman year at UT, she was a member of the co-ed cheerleading group. While she was there, she was nominated for an Emmy for her work on a documentary about the city’s Martin Luther King Jr. March, which is the country’s largest. She was a fan of both the football squad and the men’s basketball team for the University of Texas at Austin. She also spent two years on the UT Track & Field team, where she competed in hurdles. Ashlei began her media career as a UT reporter for a CBS-affiliated station in Austin. She also worked for KVR News on Texas Student Television as an Assistant News Director.
After graduation, she went to work for KTXS in Abilene. While in Abilene, she won a Texas Associated Press Award for deadline editing. Ashlei worked for a CBS affiliate in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for two years before returning to San Antonio. She covered everything from tornadoes to horrific wildfires that damaged hundreds of homes in Tulsa. Her most famous appearance was on CNN Live with Don Lemon, where they discussed a racially motivated shooting rampage in Tulsa.
