The album was preceded by three singles: “On My Own”, “End Before We Start”, and “Shame On You”, as well as one promotional song, “Deep Waters”. Claire Richards recorded an acoustic version of “One for Sorrow” for a 2015 tribute to Steps’ producer Pete Waterman. The song was orchestrated and produced by Steve Anderson, with whom she was working on her debut album. In September 2015, Richards released a solo version of “Deeper Shade of Blue.” In January 2017, Richards returned with Steps to commemorate the band’s 20th anniversary.
In March 2017, Steps announced their fifth studio album, Tears on the Dancefloor, which was followed by the Party on the Dancefloor Tour in November and December 2017. The album debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart, behind Ed Sheeran’s Divide.
