Severe weather was one of his greatest fears as a child. In fourth grade, however, he was fascinated after seeing the movie Twister. He even has the scratched VHS video to back it up. He quickly discovered that instead of cartoons, he was watching The Weather Channel when he got home from school.
Chris gained considerable forecasting experience at CMU while working at the award-winning News Central 34 prior to joining WNEM-TV5. During the summer of 2014, he also enjoyed an unforgettable internship at WWMT in Kalamazoo. Chris has seen everything from tornado warnings to blizzard warnings between these two destinations and growing up in West Michigan.
As a member of the First Warn 5 team, he is looking forward to continuing the challenge of predicting in Michigan while keeping you and your family safe. Chris enjoys playing in and watching sports, particularly baseball and college football, in his spare time. During the amazing Michigan summers, he also enjoys spending time outdoors on the golf course and taking in the sights of the Great Lakes.
