A media manager heard Brown telling stories in a Sydney bar in 2003, and he was found. Brown was nominated for a “Most Popular New Talent” Logie Award in 2003 for his first television presenting role as a vet on Harry’s Practice. Brown joined Amanda Keller, Miguel Maestre, and Barry Du Bois as co-hosts of the lifestyle show The Living Room that airs on Network Ten in 2012. Brown hosts the program’s travel and pet segments.

Brown began working as a co-host on the Australian version of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! on February 1, 2015. on Network Ten as well, with Julia Morris. From 2015 to 2023, he and Morris have co-presented every series to date.

Due to a full schedule, Brown announced his resignation as Bondi Vet host in March 2017. Brown lends a hand to animals in a variety of situations outside of Sydney on the Animal Planet (US) series Vet Gone Wild, which premiered in June 2018. In some episodes, he even travels to other countries. In 2018, it was announced that he and Julia Morris would co-host a local version of Saturday Night Takeaway. On February 24, 2019, he began hosting Chris & Julia’s Sunday Night Takeaway on Network 10.

In February 2023, it was announced that Brown had signed with Seven Network and would end his time as host of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! on Network 10 in July 2023.
