Webb started her career as a television actress. She appeared as Dr. Laverne St. John in the NBC medical drama series ER from 2008 to 2009. In 2010, she co-starred in the TV One comedy series Love That Girl! with Tatyana Ali. After three seasons on the main cast of Love That Girl!, it was announced that Webb had been promoted to the series’ lead role after former lead actress Tatyana Ali was unable to return due to contractual obligations to the now-canceled BET television show Second Generation Wayans. Webb appeared on a Saturday Night Live special featuring female comedians of African American descent in 2013.
Webb appeared in the short-lived NBC sitcom Truth Be Told in 2015. She co-starred in another NBC sitcom, Marlon, with Marlon Wayans and Essence Atkins from 2017 to 2018. After two seasons, the show was canceled. Webb appeared in the 2014 independent horror film Hollows Grove. In 2016, she starred in the comedies Ride Along 2 with Kevin Hart and Meet the Blacks with Mike Epps. In 2018, she participated in the drama Acrimony, starring Taraji P. Henson, and in the comedy Night School, starring Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish. In the 2019 comedy picture Sextuplets, she played the female lead alongside Marlon Wayans.
