Breland spent two years in Kansas City covering the Super Bowl LIV Champion Chiefs for KCTV before moving to Philadelphia. She began her television career with Service Electric Cable TV in Allentown, Pennsylvania, before spending three years at WHEC in Rochester, New York, covering the Buffalo Bills. She was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2018 for “The Bills Are Back,” a special about the 2017 Buffalo Bills playoff game that broke the franchise’s playoff drought.
Born and reared just up I-76 in Reading, PA, she has always been a fan of Philadelphia sports. Breland spent most of her childhood watching local hockey games with her grandfather, including the Philadelphia Flyers, Philadelphia Phantoms, Reading Royals, and Hershey Bears. She worked with the Reading Fightin’ Phils at FirstEnergy Stadium during the summers and interned with the Philadelphia Flyers while college.
Breland enthusiastically represented both her alma maters as her “alter egos,” the Muhlenberg Muhl and Temple Owls mascot Hooter, as a graduate of Muhlenberg High School and Temple University. At the Reading Phillies, she was Blooper the Hound Dog, and during the Reading Royals, she was Slapshot, and she also sang the National Anthem at games.
