Brandon Edwin Cruz is an American musician, actor, editor, and consultant. He is most remembered as a child actor for his role as Eddie Corbett, the son of widower Tom Corbett (portrayed by Bill Bixby). Cruz is also a punk rock musician who has performed with Dr. Know and the Dead Kennedys’ reunited lineup.

Co-star Bill Bixby and Cruz spent a lot of time together, especially when the show was on hiatus, causing Cruz to tell American Profile magazine, “Bill Bixby was like my second father.” Cruz worked as a child actor for several years after the termination of The Courtship of Eddie’s Father, making guest appearances on television shows like as Kung Fu, Gunsmoke, and The Incredible Hulk, which reunited him on-screen with Bixby. Cruz also played Joey Turner in the 1976 film The Bad News Bears.
Cruz became interested in punk rock in the late 1970s, and by 1981 he was performing with the hardcore punk band Dr. Know. The ensemble released numerous records and toured Europe in 2017 under the name KNOW. Cruz was also the lead vocalist for Dead Kennedys from 2001 to 2003. Cruz was interviewed for the documentary American Hardcore: The History of American Punk Rock from 1980 to 1986. Cruz told American Profile, reflecting on life after being a child star, which has caused sorrow for so many others, “Surfing and punk rock probably saved my life. Dr. Know still does performances. They are creating a new record and want to tour the world in 2024. Cruz has worked behind the scenes in television and movies, as an assistant.
