The brand was diversified and remembers branches for Australia (which Oliver part-repurchased in November 2016 after its organizers failed), Canada, Cyprus, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Qatar, Russia, Taiwan, Turkey, the UAE and Singapore.

Chief Executive Officer Simon Blagden made the announcement in January 2017 that six restaurants in the United Kingdom—one each in Aberdeen, Cheltenham, Exeter, Royal Tunbridge Wells, and Ludgate and Richmond in London—would be closing, resulting in the loss of 120 jobs.

In January 2018, JORG proposed entering into a company voluntary arrangement with the UK company Jamie’s Italian Ltd. as part of an agreement with creditors to secure £71.5 million in debt. The company wanted to reduce rent at eight locations and close 12 more in Bath, Bristol, Bluewater, Chelmsford, Harrogate, Kingston, Milton Keynes, Reading, and St. Albans, as well as Greenwich, Piccadilly, and Threadneedle Street in London. Court documents revealed that Jamie’s Italian owed £71.5 million, including £2.2 million in wages to employees, as part of the agreement; £30.2m of overdrafts and advances; landlords, HM Revenue and Customs, suppliers, and other creditors owe $41.3 million; with loans from Oliver’s other businesses and HSBC Bank covering £47 million of the debt.

Recipease, Oliver’s chain of cooking schools and delis, opened in Brighton, Battersea, and Notting Hill, all in the UK, in 2009. All of the stores had been closed by the end of 2015

With his friend and American barbecue expert Adam Perry Lang, Oliver opened the restaurant Barbecoa in 2011. There were two outlets, both in London, one in Piccadilly and a second in St Pauls. After receiving the second-lowest rating from hygiene inspectors in 2014, the Piccadilly location voluntarily closed for 24 hours. The Times reported that they had discovered moldy carcasses, old meat, and mouse droppings. “Instructed a firm of real estate agents to ascertain the potential value and market suitability of two of our sites,” JORG stated in February 2018. When Barbecoa Ltd. went bankrupt on February 19, 2018, Oliver immediately purchased the St. Paul’s property through a new subsidiary in a pre-packaged agreement.

On May 21, 2019, the company entered administration, closing 22 of its 25 restaurants and eliminating 1,000 jobs. Until they were sold to catering company SSP, Jamie’s Italian restaurants and Jamie Oliver’s Diner at Gatwick Airport continued to operate. Since all of Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall at Watergate Bay, 61 overseas locations, and Aramark’s catering services in the United States are run by franchisees, they were unaffected.

KPMG, the company’s administrators, announced in January 2020 that the majority of the £80 million that Jamie Oliver’s restaurant chain owed after its collapse in May 2019 would not be recouped. The losses will be borne by hundreds of suppliers and some town councils. An employment tribunal decided in 2020 that Oliver’s restaurants broke labor laws by not consulting employees before firing them.

Jamie’s Italians, which Oliver opened with Toronto restaurateur King Street Co. and executive chef Rob Gentile, also has a location in the Yorkdale Shopping Centre.
