Sherine Tadros is the head of the UN office of Amnesty International. She started her working career first by working as a member of the faculty at SOAS. That was after she completed her Middle East politics education in 2004. A couple of years later, in 2006, she landed at Al Jazeera Media Network. Working for Al Jazeera, she served as a foreign correspondent in places such as Beirut, Jerusalem, Gaza, and Cairo, and as a news anchor in Doha, Qatar. In addition to that, she was an integral part of the network’s coverage of the “Arab Spring,” reporting extensively from Egypt, Libya, and Yemen in 2011. In March 2014, she moved on from Al Jazeera with eight years of working experience. Tadros, then, joined Sky News as a Middle East correspondent and anchor in June 2014. She oversaw investigations and presentations on a variety of human rights and conflict issues in the Middle East and North America. With years of experience as a foreign correspondent under her belt, she joined the UN’s Amnesty International at New York as Deputy Director of Advocacy and Head of New York (UN) Office in April 2016. Since July 2016, she has been serving as the Head of the New York (UN) Office for Amnesty International.

Tadros was nominated by the ‘International Emmy Awards and the ‘Monte Carlo Award’ in 2009 for his coverage of the 2008 Gaza conflict and for an “exclusive story on the Samouni family killings in Gaza,” respectively.
Later, in 2012, she won the Breakaway Award, which spotlights capable younger journalists, at the 8th annual International Media Awards in London.
In addition to those honors, she has also been honored with the Royal Television Society International News Coverage Award in 2016 and was nominated for the Bayeux-Calvados War Correspondent of the Year in 2015.
