The hit ‘Fox’ show ‘So You Think You Can Dance came to Witney’s hometown for auditions when she was 18 years old. She auditioned and was chosen as one of the season’s participants. She quickly advanced to the top 20 finalists. She was paired with talented dancer Chehon Wespi-Tschopp in the final stage. She and her partner were among the top ten finalists. At the time, the finalists were required to switch partners every week. She made it to the top six by collaborating with a new partner each week. However, she was eliminated in the episode that aired on September 5, 2012, and finished the show as the second runner-up among the ladies.

In 2013, she was cast as a troupe dancer on another popular dance reality show, ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ for the sixteenth season. She also danced and choreographed. She was hired to do the same job for the show’s next season as her choreography skills improved. In the eighteenth season, however, she was promoted to professional dancer and choreographer and was to be paired with a celebrity. Singer Cody Simpson partnered with her for the entire season, but they were eliminated in April 2014. They finished the season in ninth place, which was an excellent result for a debutant. Witney was paired with actor Alfonso Ribeiro in the nineteenth season of ‘Dancing with the Stars.’

Witney was paired with reality TV personality Chris Soules for the show’s twentieth season. The couple finished fifth on the show and were the eighth couple to be eliminated. Witney and her new partner, singer and actor Carlos PenaVega, fared better in the twenty-first season. The couple advanced to the finals, where they were eliminated on Night 1 and finished in fourth place. Witney’s performance plummeted over the next few seasons. She was paired with ‘National Football League star Von Miller in the 22nd season. The couple failed to make it to the seventh week and were eliminated. They finished in eighth place in the final rankings.

The following season, she was paired with comedian Chris Kattan, and they were the first pair to be eliminated. However, Witney’s reputation was partially restored during the twenty-fifth season. She finished third with her partner, actor Frankie Muniz, after completing the final stage together. Witney appeared in the dance-based film Dancin’: It’s On!’ in 2015, in addition to reality shows. In the film, she portrayed ‘Jennifer Gabriella August,’ a girl who falls in love with a boy who works at her father’s hotel.
