He appeared as Percy Jackson in the American fantasy television series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Percy Jackson, 12, travels on a field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where his Latin instructor, Mr. Brunner, gives him a sword in the shape of a ballpoint pen.

Percy accidently knocks his class bully Nancy Bobofit into a water fountain, which attracts the attention of algebra teacher Mrs. Dodds, who reveals herself to be a Fury named Alecto. Percy accidently strikes Alecto with the blade, but everyone else seems to have forgotten her. Percy is expelled from school and returns home with his stepfather, Gabe Ugliano, and mother, Sally Jackson. Percy and Sally travel to their cabin in Montauk, New York, where Sally informs her son that Greek gods and monsters exist.

Grover Underwood, Percy’s classmate who mistakenly reveals himself as a satyr, arrives and instructs Sally to relocate Percy to Camp Half-Blood. On their route, the three are ambushed by a Minotaur, who appears to have killed Sally, prompting Percy to kill it in rage. He collapses upon arriving at camp and is greeted by Chiron, a centaur.

Percy awakens in the camp’s infirmary. He meets Mr. D, the camp’s director, and discovers that Mr. Brunner is actually Chiron. Percy is instructed by Chiron to remain in the Hermes cabin until his divine parent comes to claim him. Percy meets some other campers, including Luke Castellan and Clarisse La Rue. Clarisse and her friends try to plunge Percy’s head in the toilet, but Percy unintentionally repels them with his water powers.

Annabeth Chase pulls Percy into her squad for a game of capture the flag. Luke tells Percy how he and Thalia Grace recruited Annabeth and set out for camp, but only he and Annabeth arrived. Capture the Flag begins, as Percy repels an onslaught by Clarisse and her allies. After her team wins, Annabeth pushes Percy into the lake. The water cures his wounds, and Poseidon claims Percy, much to the surprise of the other campers.

Scobell tried out in August 2020 to play the more youthful form of Ryan Reynolds’ personality in the Netflix film The Adam Venture.
