He moved to the news desk as an early morning and lunchtime anchor in 1996. He was elevated to the anchor of Eyewitness News’ evening editions in July 2015. Ukee has been at the forefront of some of the region’s most notable stories since then, including Superstorm Sandy in 2012, the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, and Pope Francis’ historic visit to the city in 2015.
Furthermore, the multi-talented anchor’s responsibilities have included everything from moderating the 2015 Philadelphia Mayoral Candidates Forum to venturing behind bars to interview a high school friend on death row. Ukee has even appeared three times as a guest co-host on the iconic CBS network chat show THE TALK, in 2013, 2014, and 2016.
He performed in Russia, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Denmark, and Mexico as a member of the Philadelphia Boys Choir’s “elite.” Both of these experiences helped him in his broadcasting career, which included hosting live telecasts of the Philadelphia Orchestra and live coverage of the 1998 Winter Olympic Games in Nagano, Japan.
Ukee worked as a sports anchor at WBBH-TV in Fort Myers, Florida, and WSB-TV in Atlanta before returning to the Philadelphia region. He is a University of Richmond graduate. He currently resides in Wilmington, Delaware.
