Radel began his career as a journalist, serving as an anchor as well as a reporter. He interned at CNN’s Atlanta headquarters. Radel went on to work for CBS affiliates such as KHOU in Houston, WBBM in Chicago, and WINK-TV in Fort Myers, Florida. Radel purchased the Naples Journal, a community newspaper, in 2005 and later sold it to the E.W. Scripps Company, which owns the Naples Daily News. Radel returned to WINK in 2007, after selling the Journal, and left in 2009 to conduct a live, 4-hour morning radio show on WFSX-FM. Radel would return to the station to broadcast mornings in September 2016. A year later, he moved to the afternoon drive time slot, which he still hosts today.

Radel’s book, Democrazy, a True Story of Weird Politics, Money, Madness, and Finger Food, was published on March 28, 2017, by Blue Rider Press, an imprint of Random House. Radel was trained as an actor and comedian, and he did improvisational work at Chicago’s Second City. Radel began a recurring role as a TV news anchor on the sitcom StartUp in 2016, which debuted on the Sony-owned app Crackle and was eventually purchased and aired on Netflix. He also starred as a detective in the Investigation Discovery network series Truth is Stranger Than Florida. Radel’s most recent performance was in Leonardo DiCaprio’s Disney+ series The Right Stuff.
