Tony Revolori Spider-Man: Homecoming

He voiced as Flash, Parker’s rival and classmate in the 2017 American superhero film Spider-Man: Homecoming. It was observed that the character is typically portrayed as a white bully in comic books; the Guatemalan American actor got death threats following his hiring. Revolori worked hard “to do him justice” because he is a beloved character among the fans.

Rather than being a physically imposing jock, Flash Thompson was re-imagined as “a rich, smug kid” to reflect modern views of bullying, by turning him into a social media bully and Parker’s rival rather than a jock; this depiction was heavily influenced by Holland’s visit to The Bronx High School of Science. Revolori stated that Flash has to work hard to match Parker’s intelligence, which is “one of the reasons he doesn’t like Peter. Everyone else seems to enjoy Peter, so he wonders, “Why don’t they like me as much as they like him?” Revolori acquired 60 pounds (27 kg) for the part.
