She joined FOX 5 after working as a reporter and fill-in anchor at FOX 32 News in Chicago, Illinois for more than four years. She covered breaking news from NATO’s front lines, a historic Chicago Teachers Union strike, and the 2012 Presidential Election while there. She even stayed with Occupy Chicago overnight and documented the experience on her iPhone! She has also weathered and survived the bitter cold of Chicago, including the Blizzard of 2011, the Polar Vortex of 2014, and the Blizzard of 2015! One of her most cherished Chicago memories was founding Sisters Peak, a youth mentoring program designed to help female students reach their pinnacle of success and achievement.
She was an anchor and reporter at the FOX affiliate in Indianapolis, Indiana before joining FOX 32 News. She covered stories that made national headlines while there, such as a deadly teen bullying case, Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels’ take on 2010, and the Indianapolis Colts’ road to Super Bowl XLIV.

In 2002, she began her broadcast journalism career in New York, working behind the scenes on Fox News Channel’s At Large with Geraldo Rivera and The Big Story Weekend Edition with Rita Cosby. She was hired as a reporter and fill-in anchor at KGET, an NBC affiliate in Bakersfield, California, two years later. She made her television debut at the age of 14 as a “Posse Member” on Black Entertainment Television’s talk show Teen Summit, which was based in Washington, D.C. She appeared on BET in Kaiser Permanente’s national “Rap-It-Up” public service announcement about HIV and AIDS.
