He first became interested in performing after being cast as Oliver Twist in a school production of the musical “Oliver!” Griffin appeared as an adolescent in various theatre performances like “The Body Politic” and “New Haven Playhouse,” as well as local movies and commercials. Griffin dropped out of Francis Parker High School (where he was classmates with Paul Adelstein, Anne Heche, and novelist Brad Thor) to attend the University of Vermont (UVM), where he graduated with a double major in political philosophy and English. Often referred to as Griffin has a long history in television and film. Cloverfield, Leatherheads, The Men Who Stare at Goats, A Better Life,  American Sniper, Super 8, Abduction, and Central Intelligence are among his cinematic credits.

Griffin was a regular performer with the UVM Players (as Claudio in “Much Ado About Nothing” and Riff in “West Side Story”). His sophomore year, while going back to Chicago, his automobile broke down outside of New York City. While he waited for it to be fixed, his representatives asked him to audition for the TV movie “Taking A Stand.” He was cast as the lead in the all-star production (with Betty Buckley, Jane Adams, and Michael Beach). The show was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for “Outstanding Children’s Special.”Griffin headed to Hollywood after turning down a scholarship to study abroad at the University of Kent in England. Griffin will next appear as Special Agent “Adam Hassler” in M. Night Shyamalan’s event series “Wayward Pines” on Fox.
