Manley made his first television appearance on The Art Linkletter Show when he was eight months old. When he was six years old, he began landing his own film, television, voice-over, and commercial projects. From the ages of seven to nine, he landed 27 film and television roles. In 1972, one of the roles was played by a little child in an episode of All In The Family. He is most known for his role as Young Spock aged 17 in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. His Pon Farr scene with Saavik sparked controversy before the film’s release, as it was nearly deleted for being too raunchy for a Star Trek film.
After finishing the film, Stephen went to college and graduated from the Pasadena Art Center with a bachelor’s degree in film and fine art. He directed the short film “Greasepaint,” which received awards at the Houston Film Festival and shown on Bravo for two years. He then started working on a documentary about the French Foreign Legion called “Legion of Strangers.”. Stephen continues to work in cinema, television, and voiceover.
